Great stuff Brenda. The 74 tour was the first time I ever saw Lighthouse. They were playing at the Jubilee Auditorium here in Edmonton, Canada. They have been my favourite band ever since. Thanks for putting all the hard work into the site. This is one band that should never be forgotten!!!!

Thanks so much Greg. The truth is that you'd think I'd be bored to tears by now, but I get hooked in every time I hear them play.
BTW, were you able to come out to see the band when they performed at Festival Place in October?

Hi Brenda,
Ok I really hate to say it but I didn't even know they were playing at Festival Place until a co-worker said she was going to it that night. It's was like WHAT!!! You mean THE Lighthouse!! I then looked online and the FP website said the concert was sold out. I almost went out there so see if there were any people selling tickets, but I didn't cause it's a ways from my house. When I got to work the next day, my co-worker was telling me there were tickets for sale at the door. SOB!! Anyway she gave me a copy of the 40th Anniversary CD/DVD she purchased at the concert and I watched it over and over. 1849 is just the best song ever and brings a tear to my eye every time. Great news though, I received a copy of the CD/DVD for Christmas this year. Please tell the guys to come back soon. I heard the concert was really great and they are still in top form!! My kids love them too. In fact their fave song right now is Rockin Chair!!

Lovin' ya from Edmonton,
Greg

I heard from a lot of people after the concert that they didn't know about it. We'll definitely be coming back though...maybe in the spring.
So glad you're loving the DVD. Everyone in the band is very proud of it. I am too, and of course our son did it so I'm doubly proud.
Keep checking the website for updates cause there's still lots to add.
Hope to meet you when we come back to Edmonton.
B.

Wonderful illustrated information. I thank you about that. No doubt it will be very useful for my future projects. Would like to see some other posts on the same subject!

Old is gold! I am so impressed and interested to read through the discussion you have shared about this poster. It brings the feeling of those past days when tight skinny jeans and rock star life was in trend. I have already bookmarked your page and will visit again for more. Keep posting.

Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.

Hello Brenda,
We have never met - but my husband worked for Lighthouse for several years in the 1970's and was with the 1974 tour. I was with him in Hawaii when the band opened for Tower of Power May 25, 1974. I remember the date very well because that was our wedding date. We have just celebrated our 40th Anniversary this year. We have wedding photos of just us and the band - they look quite funny today - but they are our only wedding photos. We have tickets for the show at the Rose Theatre in Brampton on Sept.26. See you there.

My dad took me to see Lighthouse at the Memorial Centre in Peterborough, Ontario. I was 12 years old and it is a special memory for me. It must have been the 1974 tour! I was wondering if you might have a record of the exact date that the band played in Peterborough? Thanks!

I have a long-standing relationship with Lighthouse. I'm married to Paul so I was around for the very first rehearsal (in our garage!!); I'm a song-writer & have collaborated with Paul on some LH songs (Never Say Goodbye, Fly My Airplane & Lonely Places); I'm a writer & producer and have been involved in that capacity on various LH projects (One Fine Weekend, The Best of Lighthouse/Sunny Days Again, Song of the Ages, 40 Years of Sunny Days and a new project we're just getting off the ground - One Fine Story); I've been exhibiting extensively as a fine art photographer since 2005 (www.brendahoffert.com) and have taken most of the new shots of the band that are on the site; I've been the band's manager since LH reunited in 1992.  Though I was just going to do it for a while it became an addiction 'cause most of all - I'm Lighthouse's biggest fan!!
