THANK YOU!!
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our 40th Anniversary at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto on February 13. Every Lighthouse concert is fabulous and special in its own way but having family, friends, Lighthouse alumnae and fans all together in the same room made for an awesome experience. Here's a sampling of comments we'd like to share....If you were there and would like to add your comments please click here.
Without a doubt, the best concert I've seen in years. Anyone not there, missed the most entertaining evening in months. I saw Neil Young a few months ago and this concert was as good or maybe even better. Lighthouse is definitely one of the best bands in Canada. What an amazing group of talented musicians!! Favourite moment: Skip introducing the band and learning about each musician.
Lighthouse celebrated their 40th anniversary last night with several thousand of their loyal fans from the early 70's. Close your eyes and, except for the absence of lots of all kinds of smoke in the hall, everyone was transported back to the future. The band sounded amazing. They had great energy, fabulous musicianship and generally put on a high quality show.I had not really heard them live since the mid 70's when Bob McBride was the lead singer. I must say that their 'new' front man is as great as Bob but with a wonderful expansive vocal range. He has been with the band for over 17 years. For boomers, this was a quality event and confirmation that classic rock and rockers really are like fine wine. Even the few young people who came along with their boomer parents seemed to have a great time. The members of the band are exceptional players but the horn sectionis remarkable. I can't recall hearing such phenominal solos at any jazz or rock concert.Favourite moment: One Fine Morning lit up the place!

vote for your favourite Lighthouse song
They still have it !!! -
instrumentals were true to original brilliance and ,unlike so many other "older" groups, vocals were VERY strong /true to original. Solos by various members on all instruments were exceptional and allowed us to get a better understanding/appreciation of the many talents that contributed to the group's tremendous overall performance ."Guest" appearances from past members added to evening. Hearing so many old hits from the group reminded us why we loved them in first place - music with tremendous energy- great instrumentals combined with upbeat lyrics, and a punch from the brass section that groups without brass just cannot match. On reflection think group would have been a tremendous addition to Olympics entertainment lineup.
I was blown away.
What a band! The sound, the veniue and the band made for a memorable evening.
This is the best version of the group ever. Althought we miss Bob McBride and always will.
Dan Clancy stands in his own right. These guy clearly were having fun and isn't that's what matters. It was infectous.
Thanks Skip, Paul, Ralph, Russ Stuart and allFavourite moment: Meeting the band before and after . These guys made us feel fans are important, the new song 40 Years Every last solo
