Caught your show @ Sound Academy earlier in March. It was outstanding! So much so, had to take my brother to see you again in Hamilton last night. Another astounding performance! I couldn't wipe the grin off his face as he realized he was seated directly in front of Ralph & Skip :) You were all so very gracious during the meet & greet and were kind enough to take the time for photo ops as well. I was also very impressed with your support of World Vision. Wouldn't it be wonderful if more artists followed your example and had a sponsorship table at venue entrances? I've held a great regard for your music throughout the decades but now find myself holding an even greater admiration for your principles & ethics. You fellows are certainly a class act - an act we will continue to follow and support as we will with World Vision. Thank you again for a wonderful evening and look forward to more concerts in the near future! Cheers!

My band (Puddin'n'Tang) opened for Skip Prokop and the "Paupers" in the late 60s at the Woodstock Ontario Fairgrounds. I played trumpet, and still do, so I really appreciate the brass section in Lighthouse. Keep up the good work guys. Have been to several "Lighthouse" concerts.

Lighthouse is one of the greatest bands out there. Its so nice to hear a band with real vocals, and not autotune or lip synching. I love the bands energy on stage, and Dan has an amazing voice.. I just loved listening to him sing. Awesome!

Is anyone aware that on "Amazon.ca" there are CD releases of the first three Lighthouse albums? Are these official? I'm asking because they carry a pretty high price tag: CDN $54.28. Can anyone shed some light on this?

After a shitty day at work there is nothing better than about a half hour or so of lighthouse realllllly loud on my headphones to help erase the day and make me feel better. Thanks guys! Best band I have ever seen. Loved One Fine Weekend the best, with you and your kids at Ontario Place it was awesome!

WOW-I remember 1971 as if it were yesterday. One Fine morning was/is/will always be a classic LP. Did it ever come out on CD? I'd love to have it. Thanks for the trip back to 1971.

The first concert I ever went to was Lighthouse when I was in grade 8- it was at London Arena in 1972- I was 14 years old. Lighthouse became my favourite band as a result of that and I have loved them ever since. In recent years I have seen you at Victoria Park, here in London, and a few other venues and as always your music just makes me feel good. Thanks for decades of enjoyment and keep it going.

Always loved you guys.I played the heck out of One Fine Morning when I started my radio career in 1971. The album sat reverently next to my Chicago & Ides of March vinyls. It was stolen at a radio station in 1979. Now I can get the CD! Do you guys ever play the U.P. or Green Bay? Thanks for all the great memories.

We really enjoyed your concert at the Orillia Opera House on Sat. March 10th. It was so great to see you perform live. You are such excellent musicians. The harmony and dynamics of the band is what makes you so great. We have loved your music from way back when you first performed at Toronto's Nathan Phillips square back in the early 70's. We were blown away by everyone's unique contribution to the whole group. First time we had ever heard Dan Clancy - wow! What an awesome voice! You guys are up there with the best musicians in the world. Continued good health and happiness. Hope you will come back to Orillia again.

My husband & I just got home from seeing Lighthouse At the Imperial Theatre, in Saint John, N.B. They played my fav. song "YOU GIRL" which my Husband sang, along with the "L.P"(no CD) to me on our first date. I took the poster out of the window of the Theatre, so the guys could sign it for me. All I can say is..."WE HAD ONE SHIT HOT TIME, TONIGHT!!"

FINALLY!!!! I got to see Lighthouse last night in Halifax !!! Was blown away by the passion in their playing. Last time I saw the band was in the mid-seventies. I think it was the last time they toured before breaking up. This time I got to see them with my wife and son. He got to see what I had been talking about all these years. The last time I saw Lighthouse live, he wasn`t even a twinkle in my eye. Thanks for a very enjoyable evening !!Don`t wait so long to come back eh.

Hey Guys, I, like many fans of yours out there, have been waiting for what seems as practically forever already for you guys to release your albums individually on CD. How about digitally remastering each album and putting them together in chronological pairs starting with Lighthouse and then coupling that with Suite Feeling in a two discs for one series. We anxiously await your results All the best !

Hey all I just want to tell everyone there are 9 unreleased Bob Mcbride songs on youtube there from a performance at the Donwood in Toronto mos of the videos are kind of dark but the sound quality is really good. It features Bob Mcbride singing and playing acoustic guitar on new songs like Youve Got It,One Day At A Time,Im Doin It ,Joanna,Stormy Mondays,One fine Morning,Sail On Sailor,A Horse With No Name and Pretty Lady. I just thought the fans may want to know they were released a few weeks ago by a friend of Bob Mcbrides. I tried to contact Skip prokop on facebook to let him know but I dont know if I got the right guy,I havestarted putting these new releases on a Facebook page called Bob Mcbride (Lighthouse)Bob says in one of the videos before he plays I wish I could get these songs out.So some people are trying to fulfill his wishes...Be Blessed

Just listened to the new DVD and what a production! You have really outdid yourselves on this achievement. I had an association with Paul many years ago when he preferred playing guitar and spending time with the Friendly Giant instead of grinding it out at OHM Electronics. Many good memories. Little did we know this would lead to Lighthouse. Congratulations on a fine job to all.

Lighthouse was my favourite band back in the early seventies. When I heard a former member Paul Armin, was teaching at a local secondary school, I decided to transfer there so I could be taught by such an amazing violinist. It was at that school where I met this beautiful girl, who eventually became my wife (33 years this year). Paul also saw my potential as a musician, which led me to my current profession as a musician, composer, arranger and music teacher. My world changed thanks to Lighthouse. Every day I wake up I think it’s ONE FINE MORNING!!!!! Thank you! You guys ROCK!!! Ted...Biggest fan ever!

Hi Guys! Funny thing... I just bumped into your website by mistake... (if there is such a thing as 'mistake'), because my good friend is blue and looking for direction, and has found herself working at a place called "The Lighthouse Gift Shop". So I was googling the word 'Lighthouse', ( - essentially an aid to navigation), found your site and went "Oh yeah! There's nothing better for your soul than lying in the sun and listening to rock and roll". Anyway, it's been an absolute blast to check out your website and see sunny days still going on with you, so thanks for putting it out there. I send my Love and all the best for 2012 to Lighthouse, Dianne

Hello Skip, I have listened to Lighthouse from the beginning. As A young boy of 12 and 13 years of age when I first saw and heard the band at Ontario Place where my friends Dad (David McKay) was filming the band. And then there was the time you gave a few of us records from your house (the back yard with the big dog by Tecumseh Public School .... good ole Lorne Park) Great days and great memories. Hard to believe that I'm now well into my 50's. Life is good. Take care and God Bless. John Brown Barrie Ont.

I've been following Lighthouse for many years. The music is timeless and very enjoyable to hear.I have been trying for a number of years to be able to get the band to play in my area and have not been too successful - in fact not successful at all! I m still trying and hope to find some success in the very near future. Please keep playing.

It was in 1970 or 1971 during one of the worst Snow storms in history of eastern Canada where it was where "Crowbar" & "Lighthouse" bunking together in the only room left "The Hotels Ballroom" You just can't imagine what went on in that room that night. As I recall the room was never used as a Ballroom again. Fond Memories of some fine friends. Cheers Boys

Wow...just finished listenting to and viewing the '40 years of sunny days' cd/DVD. You guys have been a steady, consistent powerhouse - I first saw you at the Atlantic City Pop Festival in 1969 - at least I'm pretty sure it was there...that was a three day blur for me, I was 19 and played the sax - nobody wanted me in their band so I was blown away by your wall of sound. Somehow, someway, I'm going to see you again live. I'll be the balding guy acting like a 19 year old - you can't miss me. Thanks for all the years. - JM

I fondly remember hearing One Fine Morning for the first time on the radio and thinking it was a new BST or Chicago tune! Saw the band at my high school in spring '71 (reserved seats no less) and have been a fan ever since. Have seen you live many times and have enjoyed talking to some of you in person. I'm looking forward to getting the new CD/DVD and catching some shows in 2012. Your music will never grow old - Keep Rockin' guys!

I first met Skip when I was 13 years old at a Paupers concert at my high school in Guelph and became the fan club president for our city. Since then, I have been a HUGE fan of whatever Skip has been involved in, including Lighthouse. No matter how many years pass, and how many changes I go through, the joy and excitement I first felt when I heard the band has not diminished. I look forward to hearing about your touring schedule in 2012!!

I came across an old photo of the band that I took i think around 1970 in Regina at Sask Centre of the Arts. Mcbride wasn't with them at this time .I think it was Skip and Ralph on vocals . I still remember this concert it is on my list of one of the better ones I had seen . I have enclosed the photo of this concert

Hi, I enjoyed "40 Years of Lighthouse" but many of my favourate Lighthouse songs were missing. I would prefer to get the individual albums. Luckily I have "One Fine Morning" and "Sunny Days" and the one preceding "One Fine Morning". Their best music started from "One Fine Morning" onwards respectively. I'm after the albums after "One Fine Morning" ending at about 1980. Getting these albums on disc (I have then on vinyl)before I turn 100 would be great (that's in 40 years time). Hopefully there's 40 years of Phillips (me) left.

Lighthouse performed last Thurs, Sept 8 at Markham Theater in Unionville, ON and they didn't disappoint! My husband bought tickets to celebrate our 20th Anniversary but gave up his seat so our daughter could go to her 1st concert after making a hospital donation - she's 8! Jamie & I had a great time and loved meeting the band afterwards. She's gotta be one of their youngest fans proving the staying power of the great music Lighthouse continues to WOW us all with. Thanks Lighthouse and come back soon!!!

Another great performance by Lighthouse on August 23rd in Lethbridge, Alberta. That was the second time my wife, eldest daughter and I have seen Lighthouse perform this year. They have proven again that they are Canada's premiere band. I first heard the band perform with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in November 1970 and have been a fan ever since. No other band had used strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, electric guitars and vibraphone to develop a sound like no other in the history of rock. The current line-up still has that unique Lighthouse sound and even the "old" songs still give me goosebumps and bring back great memories of that era. Hope to hear you guys perform again in 2012 and just keep doin' what your doin' 'cause it still sounds great. Tim B., Calgary

I was at the exhibition grounds last night (August, 23/2011) watching you guys perform and the show was just not that successful. Sorry guys. Let me explain what I mean because you guys are talented musicians and deserve to get honest feedback. I felt as though I was at a circus at one point then at a beach watching whales screeching, then at one point in the show I felt like I was at some Indian wedding ceremony. At one point you guys tried to get the crowd involved and it just didn't work. I'm not trying to be critical because I love music in general but the show I felt just didn't flow well tonight.

am going to see you guys in Markham on Sept 8. We got the VIP tickets so hoping for a back stage pass. Back in 1972 you played Gordon Graydon High School and I have kept an original poster from that event ever since. Its a black and white hand cut silk screen original that has been preserved in mint condition. Admission was $2.50 in advance and $3.50 to get in at the door. Hope the guys can sign it for me. I will upload a copy later.

I was sitting in my backyard tonight.I could hear a lot of the concert down at Woodbine Beach on Canada Day.It would be impossible for me to remember how many times in the late 60s and the 70s that I heard this band having grown up in Toronto. They stil sounded great tonight. I was wondering how many of the original band was still playing.I found this sight and I am totally surprised how many original members are still playing.I will have to find out when they play next and will have to go to see them.It will bring back a lot of memories.

I have been a fan ever since I heard my first Lighthouse song years ago. I have witnessed the pleasure and the pain that artists go through and being Skips brother-in-law and friend over the years has given me a glimpse into the life of one of the Finest Rockers in Canadian history. I want to congratulate the band on giving all their fans years of memories. Skip, I love you and Danny, "Your the Man"

Looking forward to your concert schedule this year. Saw you last year in Burlington and Toronto - you still do it amazingly well. Going back - way back - to high school - loved seeing you live which a group of us did every time you were around. It's as good today as it ever was. See you soon.

Wanted to write this for awhile, but time just slips away. My wife and I saw Lighthouse at the Empire theatre in Belleville back on the 18th Feb. and what a great show. The entire band gave it their all and it really showed. Dan Clancy's energy is unbelievable. All of our favorites were played along with some of the newer songs. When you closed your eyes, Skip, Paul, Ralph and all of the others transported you back to the 70s. We can't wait to have a chance to see another concert. Thanks for the memories for the past 40 years, and wishing you the best in the future. Henry & Diane

I'm a candidate in this federal election, and I was just asked to name the first real concert I ever attended. That would be you guys, at the old Palace Theatre in Hamilton, Ontario. I was absolutely blown away. Not long after that, I bought a Cheap Thrills membership that got me into every major concert at Maple Leaf Gardens. I saw just about everybody...all thanks to that Lighthouse concert. I've seen you several times since then, and never been disappointed. You always put on a great show. Cheers, and thanks for the good times. Dave Hart Dyke

I was delighted yesterday to discover the release of Lighthouse's first three albums, Lighthouse, Piecing It All Together and Suite Feeling on Amazon. I hope this is the beginning of the release of Lighthouse's other albums. I have One Fine Morning (one fine album) and Sunny Days and of course the two Best Of's, Sunny Days Again and 40 Years of Lighthouse which are pretty similar. The albums I am desperately waiting for are Thought Of Moving On (1972) and Can You Feel It (1973). Good Day (1974) would also be a good aquisition. The release of 40 Years of Lighthouse must have started the resurrection of Lighthouse's earlier music. Keep it rolling. Peter Phillips

My wife and I were at the Stockey Centre gig last night and as usual thoroughly enjoyed the show. The vocal harmonies were spot on and the dynamics were there all night. I like the way you can bring the band from a quiet whisper up to a rockin` climax and back down again in the same song. I also like the way you, as lead singer, put your own stamp on the tunes but can still evoke the sound of Bob Mcbride in the old songs. We didn`t do the meet and greet this year as there was a lot of other folks who wanted to meet you guys, a classy act by the way, more bands should do this. We`ll be looking forward to future gigs. I see you have one tonight in North Bay. Break a leg and keep rockin`.

Thank you for this site! Unfortunately, I didn't find any info about former members of the group. Believe me, it means something to us - we don't know even if they are alive or not (though I constantly hear that Keith Jollimore, Don DiNovo and some others are dead). Seems to me, that wasn't a bad idea - to give some biographical info about group members. Cheers, Jerzy.

I saw lighthouse on at the capitol center on march 26 2011 and very good concert. Lots of compassion in all the members. My mum & me got to meet the band upstairs during the intermission and again after the show. I got all 9 members autograph. My mum & me are personally friends with the saxophone player Steve Kennedy. Hope lighthouse comes back to north bay sometime soon. Lots of love for lighthouse

Lighthouse has always been a insiration for me as a drummer since i was 12. My friend Dave Campbell & I would set up two drum sets in his basement & see who could copy Skip's super fast rolls & still be in time. We had a small P.A system with a turntable plugged in to it. We played to every track till all the L.p's had fallen to the turntable. Most memorable !!! Thanks so much Lighthouse for being our mentors. Love the group, been listening to them from the start, first saw them opening for the Byrds in Kingston (original 13 man group) right up to the last time they played at the Grand theatre, Oct. 2010. Also loved the Paupers. The recent dvd is fantastic for both video and outstanding 5.1 sound. Thanks for all the great music over the years.

Attended your FABULOUS concert last night at the Rose Theatre in Brampton, ON. Have been a fan since the early 70's, but the music provided last night showcased how every member of the band is an accomplished musician in their own right as well. Skip, your gracious introduction of each member, plus the opportunity for everyone to be highlighted during the evening was an absolute delight. Best wishes for many more 'Sunny Days' and years of making outstanding music together! Thanks for the great comments about the Rose Theatre. We Bramptonians are extremely proud of this great venue, and very lucky to have it in our own backyard.

Fantastic concert at The Rose in Brampton last night. Amazing sound, great mix of music thrown in with a few wonderful stories by Skip. I do remember when you played at Brampton Centennial Secondary School in the early 70s. You were rockin' then and you are still rockin' now!

It still gives me a thrill to hear Lighthouse on the radio. The first time I saw the band was at Richview Collegiate in Etobicoke in 1970. Shortly after that I joined Magic Bus and helped put on the summer concerts. The next time Lighthouse played for us I ended drinking 5 Star back stage with the horn section. Those were some great times, and definitely sunny days. Hope to meat up with the band again. All the best,
Hugh Tomkinson

The Belleville gig last night was awesome — consummate, immaculate performances by all and pure joy for the audience to experience. Skip, Paul, Ralph, Dan and the whole band are an inspiration, each artist so accomplished, experienced and masterful in what they bring. The catalogue and repertoire over 40+ years is just unbelievable and Lighthouse still stands among the best live bands anywhere, anytime. The big, lush, rich layered sound doesn't rely on sampling or autotune — just a lot of REALLY good musicians playing together in a wonderful respectful, collaborative and endlessly creative way, loving what they do and loving to share it with the appreciative audience. Thanks guys, for so many years of so much great music — and still bringin' it with love.

My wife and I attended your concert last night(2011-02-17) in Kitchener, Ontario. Wow-very impressive, tight, clean, timeless and very personal from the solos given. Whats disappointing is your Catalog in the CD format is very difficult to get hold of. In the future will you sell your catalog from your web site? Gentlemen, thank-you and hope to see you again and again.

I was at your show in Kitchener at centre in the square with my son and nephew and we were blown away. What a spectacular performance. I was singing along and rocking in my seat throughout the entire show. The highlight for me was meeting you all at the end of the show and chatting. What a thrill it was to have you autograph old photos I have had since I was 15 which I received from a fan club. A special thanks to Skip for signing a drumstick he had thrown out in the crowd at a 1973 concert which my sister caught. I'm also very grateful to Dan for sharing a very special story with me about Bob McBride who I had a huge crush on when I was 15. It was a very emotional moment for me and I will always cherish it. Sincerely,
Bonny, Cory and Phil Raymondo

Really enjoyed your show at the Cenre In The Square in Kitchener on February 17th. You guys were really rocking.Great sound in a great venue! It was also nice to chat with some of you following the show. I will definitely be out to another show! Do you ever play some of the songs you did back in the late 60's and early 70's like Eight Miles High and a couple of Chicago tunes you occasionally played? Would love to hear those. All the best. Continued success and good health.

Hi Guys, it is nice to see all the old pics of the band that are on this site. I miss my dad very much and it is sad what happened in his life. There are a couple of promo shots and I am wondering who has them as I would love copies for memories' sake? All the best to you and I hope to catch a show at some point. Is that paper with "One Fine Morning" written on it my dad's handwriting? It looks like it, quite messy lol. Cheers,
Elisa McBride

I'm 54 and remember back when we were 15-16 listening to your albums over and over. Over the last years I searched everywhere for live dvd's or video's of Lighthouse without any luck until I was given Live at Q Music Studios. Had water in my eyes watching it, brought back a lot of good memories. Sure wish you guys would come play a gig at the new Casino here in Moncton, New Brunswick. Please continue playing forever, your music not only sounds good but also feels good. Thanks again for the memories and best wishes,
Roland Stewart

I met Skip at the Music Festival in Burlington this year. Spoke with him as I was so pleased the band was playing that nite. He actually dedicated this song to my friend and I. He lives in the same town as my sister. It was such a great show and I hear they are playing here at Brock U. in February. Great music from the 70's. They're fantasitic.

I'm somewhat confused because the promotional photo for the band Lighthouse that is playing the Center In The Square on their website shows five guys in their early 20s? Is this the wrong photo the people used, or is this a reformed Lighthouse of younger musicians playing original Lighthouse songs???? Please clear up my confusion. Thank you.
Peter Black
BTW - there was a problem on this web site - they had the wrong picture - Thanks to Peter it has been fixed!!

My husband and I live in Cambridge and we are attending the Feb. 17th show at the Centre in the Square in Kitchener . We wanted to meet the band and were willing to pay extra for the meet and greet but were told that that could only happen through the promoter . We are both huge fans and are looking forward to hearing back from you.

I forget what I had, I guess the LP that contained "One Fine Morinng", a killer song, love those horns! But when I found it on CD, from 1996, it sounded like someone remixed/remastered it ; it sounds awful and empty! Would like to know if a CD exists that has the original mix! Thanks and Happy New Year!! John - USA

Congrats to Skip on his Lifetime Achievement Award. First heard Skip play in drum & bugle corps during a Labour Day parade in Hamilton. I was carrying the lead flag for our Scout troop right behind. Sure enjoyed that march. Heard Skip play with many fine musicians, especially Lighthouse. Thanks for joining Crowbar at Massey Hall for the live album. Loved his Valecrest smooth jazz album, too. Too many tributes to list. Looking forward to that biography. As Ronnie Hawkins always advised, "Keep rockin"

I was at the Carnegie hall concert, and also saw Lighthouse at My Father's Place in Roslyn Long Island NY. We had the pleasure of sitting at the bar with them after the show. Never as big as Chicago in the US, but just as good,if not better. I'm glad they still play in Canada. I just wish the garbage in the commercial music industry would die off and free music return. Keep the internet free from government control or we all will LOSE everything we cherish and love.

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to see Lighthouse 3 times in the last couple of years. Once again, at the Historic Regent Theatre in Oshawa, you didn't dissappoint. Of the bands that we've seen recently, like America, 3 Dog Night, Moody Blues, to name a few - none of these bands were as talented, or have the vocals, or the sound of Lighthouse. You keep getting better! Thanks once again, and please come back again soon.

I've always been a fan of your music. Had no choice as a kid but to listen to Lighthouse as I am the youngest brother of Bob and Carolyn Childs. Skip I think you may still remember them, as a young boy you shared a duplex with them in Hamilton. When I first started playing music my mother would not let me learn the drums because of the many hours she listened to you practice. Glad to hear your coming to Kitchener in Feb. going to asked the girlfriend if she would like to go to the show. Sincerely

I haven't seen Lighthouse since the early 70s, when my friends and I would travel from Niagara to just about any concert within 2 hours to see them. What a treat my wife and I had, when we attended the concert last Thursday at Mohawk College. These guys are great. Every member of the current band is so talented individually, but as a group, just outstanding. My wife and I are musicians ourselves and were very impressed with many aspects of Lighthouse; the vocals harmonies, the arrangements, the solos, and of course Dan Clancey covering the lead vocals. We can't wait to see and hear them again. Please keep us posted of upcoming events. Thanks-

You guys are incredible. One Fine Morning on old GRT vinyl is great, listen to it all the time. Great to see you boys playing 1849 what an epic track and mood. Hope to see you in Oshawa in November. Do you boys have any archive live footage when Bob McBride was still in the band? My aunt talked to him shortly before he passed and he told her the story of how he was hurt during the break in and what not while trying to get clean. A sad tale of course, but his vocals tear through the ages. Cheers!

You guys played at our school dances 70's hope to see you playing at our schools 50th anniversary party at LeParc, Markham. A lot of memories for a lot of people back then, this would certainly be the highlight you have a lot of fans from Bayview Secondary School, and they are coming back Nov 6th to celebrate from all over the world. Man, this would top it all seeing you play live again at such a time in all our lives.

Attended your concert last night at the Grand Theatre in Kingston. It was great to reminise while listening to the old Lighthouse favourites. My first experience with dating happened in Toronto at the CNE. It so happens I me a girl who was working at the Vic Tanny's booth at the Better Living Building and we hit it off. We decided to attend your free concert at the bandshell. It has been so long ago that I cant even remember the year... You guys are sounding even better... I bought your CD and spent half the night listening ... Cheers Gary

Nice to see you guys are still at it. Don't know if you'll remember me, but my mom and dad, Paula and Sam Younghans were pretty good friends with the band, and dad and I hitchhiked from Manhattan to Atlantic City for the Pop Festival, 1969. I was only 6 or 7, but remember bits and pieces. I remember dad sending me back to your hotel with one of the crew, and telling me to find a place to sleep, which I did. I think I took either Pinky's or Paul's bed and he ended up sleeping in another room. A lot of time has passed since then, but it'd be cool if any of this struck a memory. I have a few.

Its great to see you guys have a operational web site - the band must still be cooking. I have followed Lighthouse since the begining and have always enjoyed the bands driving infectious music played by such gifted musicians! If you ever get down to Ottawa area or land a TV special, just ring my bell. Best regards,
Ted Farant

Thoroughly enjoyed the show in Burlington in June. Really appreciated the opportunity to meet the guys in the band, especially Dan and Skip. Sounded great! However I sure do miss those strings. Looking forward to getting out to either Brampton or Kitchener in the New Year to catch another show. Take it slow, take it easy.

Just finished watching your 40 Years of Sunny Days DVD and just wanted to tell you that you guys sure do rock on! You sound as fantastic as you did when I was 8 years old. I'm almost 50 years old now and am enjoying re-creating your music (as best we can) with my own band. Your songs bring so much joy and fun to our band, and so many wonderful memories to me personally! I am hearing rumors that you are coming to Nova Scotia. I really hope that's true!

Had a great time at the Burlington Sound of Music Festival concert. The band sounded great. Seems like the guys haven't "missed a beat" after these years. I do miss the string section though. Also appreciated the opportunity meet the guys after the show, especially Skip. Looking forward to the next time I can see a show.

Wow! I was at your concert in Barrie yesterday and it was awesome! Especially during "Pretty Lady" which ranks as one of my all time favourite songs of any group. I missed your last few appearances here and I wasn't going to miss this one. A special thanks to Skip. What can I say? I love that song. PS I finally did meet my pretty lady but she isn't into seventies music like I am so she wasn't there.

I am happy to see that you continue touring. I saw the band many times when I lived in Orangeville, just north west of T.O. and Skip Prokop was the cousin of a guy I played ball with. Now many years later, I'm on the west coast and would love to catch the show sometime. I would welcome being on the mail list as I travel throughout the west on business and would gladly arrange to be where ever 'One Fine Morning' wafts through the air!!! Keep going!

I saw Lighthouse at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio during the tour for the "live" album. Later my high school marching band, also from Marietta, played the Canadian Exhibition in Toronto and several members attend the Lighthouse show there that was Skip's last show at the time. I'd love to have lyrics for 1849 and Pretty Lady if possible. Thanks

Hi, Just 'sittin' in my rockin' chair' checking Lighthouse out on Youtube and recalling the great show you put on at Brock University in the summer of '73. Fantastic. What a thrill. And all that GBX equipment. Bought GBX black tapewound strings for my Fender Precision Bass I was so inspired. Loved wearing out your albums and learning your songs. Still listening and hope to get around to one of your gigs in the near future. Thanks.

I have always loved Lighthouse, and am especially in awe of Bob McBride's voice. What depth, timbre, range, richness. Of course, it sounds even better supported by the stunning harmonies of Lighthouse, the superb mix of horns and strings, and the high quality of song writing. Never mind the hooks! I'm still impressed. The music sounds as bright and relevant today as it did in the 70s. Thank you!

Been a fan of the band since 1973 when Can You Feel It came out. As a matter of fact it was Mr. Cole who got myself interested in playing guitar. Just recently my wife and i had the chance of seeing you guys kick it out of the park at the Burlington Sound of Music Festival. What an awesome show. It's nice to see you guys playing with such fire. Bought the C.D./DVD. 40 Years of Sunny Days and listened to it on the drive home. Great package you guys put together. Anyways i may be sounding to much like a fanboy, just keep on playing for another 40 years God willing. Cheers.

You guys have a fan in Kinston, NC-USA. Grew up listening to Zappa and Steely Dan, but Lighthouse is the real deal. Friend of mine in college(East Carolina Univ.) actually had a copy of "One Fine Morning" and I got completely turned on. I forgot about it for a long time until a local radio station played it awhile back on its 70's show. Now I'm rediscovering Lighthouse all over again. Any chance you guys might play in NC?

It's great that you got a site! And for whom it may concern (for example, me) - I've heard that some of your band are dead yet. In the list were the names of Don Dinovo, Keith Kollimore, Al Wilmot, Freddy Stone, maybe some more, maybe the list is wrong. Anyway, that's very sad. May you give a biographical notes of them? Thanks, George.

Missed the concert..Huge and I mean Huge Lighthouse fan..I even have your RCA records. And believe it or not. Your RCA hits; which I found interesting that any song that dealt with peace and love was kept off that album..Interesting.. But I love the new album and video attached with Great Package.. Would love to see since Paul and Brenda at one time Managed Bob McBride..it would be nice to see a package done with his songs.. After looking at the lighthouse sight I see there are a lot of Bob McBride fans out there.. There is a story that lighthouse should tell. I fany parent needed a reason to keep there kids off of drugs that's it..he had the world by it's tail and threw it all away. keep up the great work..

Hi there, I just want to thank you guys so much for the years of music you have given. We Canadians are so very proud of you guys, and all you have done to export your music, and our country around the world. Being a musician, and now a music retailer, I know first hand how tough it is dealing with personalities in bands. And like your butt...everybody has one. Thanks for keeping it all together and making the beautiful music you do. Loved your show in Belleville last year, and we all hope you are back soon. Take care my friends and God Bless you all!

I have followed the band since the 60's including Skip in the Paupers. I attended many concerts and different venues. One of my favorites was the One Fine Weekend series at the Ontario Place Fourm. It was filmed by CBC. Will it ever be released on DVD ,

A beautiful spring weekend in Upstate New York after another long cold winter. Saturday a small package from Canada arrived and the weekend became even brighter. We loved horns back in high school and any band that used them - particularly in a rock and roll context - was an immediate favorite. And Lighthouse was always at the top of the play list. Great pop writing, jazz sensibilities, strings married to rock rhythms...and horns. Of all the vinyl I have been unwilling to let go, those albums are still lovingly cared for - and occasionally played instead of the CDs and MP3s that can never quite replace them. So, while it seems insufficient...thanks. I'm listening right now for the third time straight through. I've watched the DVD twice. And for a few pleasant hours it has been 1975 and 1976 all over again. My buddies who went the unfortunate way of Bob McBride aren't really lost and I am 17 again. The world is full of sunny days and endless possibility...and horns. Wonderful bright brassy horns punctuating a soundtrack that I will always be grateful I found and shared and can still appreciate.

First saw the band in Halifax in 2006, I beleave. They were great and I got my younger wife turned onto a great live concert that night. It was iffy at first because she wasn't a big horns fan. When the Hoff started tickling the vibes, she just fell for the band. She later said it was the best concert she ever attended. We've both been wanting to see them again. Glynn & Caroline

A huge THANK-YOU to the band and organizers! The show was fantastic! Lighthouse, as musicians and entertainers, were as "tight" as ever! I guess 40 years of practice helps! My daughter (19) who attended with me has liked a number of Lighthouse songs over the years (she has to put up with her Dad's music preferences now and then!), but now she says ALL Lighthouse songs are on her fav's list! Well done!

love "Can You Feel It" and "Live" albums. Especially, all songs in "Can You~" repeating on my mind endlessly. I know Flower Traveling Band in Japan owes a lot to Lighthouse for their recording and concert appearances in early 1970's in Canada after they get a hook with Lighthouse when they went to Japan Expo in 1970. I will listen to "Can You~" again this weekend. Everytime I drive on 402 to 401 to Tronto from metro Detroit, I can't help but remembering my Lighthouse. My Lighthouse forever.

Hello Lighthouse, Back in the 1972-73 Hockey Season, Lighthouse sponsored our Pee Wee Hockey Team in Mississauga, ON. We were proudly known as Sunny Days Lighthouse. Thanks again to Skip for coming out to most of our Games, getting to know us kids, being in our Team Photo, giving us an Autographed Sunny Days Album for Christmas and avidly cheering us on to Win the Championship that season. For 13 year old kids who were just discovering the great big world, Lighthouse helped inspire our love of music. It was great hearing "Our Teams Song" Sunny Days on the radio especially during the summer of 1973. Even today I can only imagine what it was like for you guys to hear "Your Hit Song" on the Radio here in Canada as well as across the air waves wherever you traveled. Good Luck and Congratulations on Your 40 Years. Well Done! Thanks Again,
Wayne Banon

My wife, Joan, and I attended the 40th Anniversary show last Saturday at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. This was our first Lighthouse concert - although we've been listening to their music since the band first formed. Great show!!! Great vocals (including harmonies) and sensational instrumentalists. Wow, just like fine wine!! Thanks to the Band for a memorable night!

Hey Guys. I have been a Lighthouse fan from the beginning even when Skip had the Paupers going. I have seen you in so many venues I can't keep track. But let me tell you, on Saturday evening at the Better Living theatre in Toronto, you guys were tighter than ever and Dan your pipes were so on. Fine China as an example. Congrats on your 40th and keep it going.

Saw you last night at the Queen Elizabeth. Brought my 11 year old daughter who plays (are you ready?) sax, clarinet, piano, and bass guitar and was so totally turned on listening to the soprano sax last night that she's planning to pick that up in Grade 7 next year. You played at my high school in 19.. don't want to say exactly when...Mr. Armin was my clarinet teacher at Burnhamthorpe Collegiate and his 2 sons were in the band. My daughter is totally turned on to One Fine Morning and she downloaded the song this morning. Thanks for a great night, the show was spectacular, the music still moves me inside and you have a new fan! Will follow you from place to place now! Regards,

The 40th Anniversary concert was great. Great band, great sound, great venue. After the concert last night this makes the 10th Lighthouse performance I have attended. Just like wine, the band seems to get better with age. Can't wait for the next concert in the area. Maybe they can come back to Hamilton one more time. PS CD and DVD set worth every penny.

We saw the 40th anniversary concert in Toronto last night. No words can describe how great of a time we had. While we have always loved Lighthouse's music from the get go, we have only attended concerts in the past 10 or so years ago (about the time of the release of the Song of Ages album). It is really nice to see Dan Clancy mature into his role with the band. The new DVD is great, just as Skip promised.

Damn this reunion takes me back to great days with great music from a great bunch of musicians. Times were fun. Wonderful to reflect and be warmed by tremendous memories. Cheers,

I caught the show at Casino Rama last summer. It was outstanding. I have always held the group in very high esteem and I wasn't disappointed. Thanks again for a great show (hope to see you again soon)!

Hey Skip, Long, long time! Nice web page. Would like to get to CNE on the 13th but I have another commitment. I'll keep an eye on the webpage to see what's up next .Bolsover hasn't changed much over the years except the bridge over the canal is closed due to structural damage. Take care.

I had not been to a concert in a very long time, when I heard that Lighthouse was going to be at the EA Rawlinson Center, I got a couple of buddies together and bought tickets. We were not dissappointed. It was a great show. We all agreed that it had been too long and we should do it again. Next time I'll be there! thanks for playing the small venue. We all appreciated it.
