Tim Bossenberry and his wife and daughter are big Lighthouse fans and they have honoured the band several times by making special trips out to see them. This time they flew to Lethbridge. Tim sent this comment to the guest book. Thanks so much for your support!!!
Another great performance by Lighthouse on August 23rd in Lethbridge, Alberta. That was the second time my wife, eldest daughter and I have seen Lighthouse perform this year. They have proven again that they are Canada's premiere band. I first heard the band perform with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in November 1970 and have been a fan ever since. No other band had used strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, electric guitars and vibraphone to develop a sound like no other in the history of rock. The current line-up still has that unique Lighthouse sound and even the "old" songs still give me goosebumps and bring back great memories of that era. Hope to hear you guys perform again in 2012 and just keep doin' what your doin' 'cause it still sounds great. Tim B., Calgary |

The guys were excited to play along-side curling superstars such as Glenn Howard, Don Bartlett, Richard Hart and Kristie Moore. The bonspiel, auction and gala dinner raised over $60,000.00. Way to go Ryan!!

LIGHTHOUSE ON THE ROAD
It's been an amazing couple of months of touring and the band would like to thank all those who came out to Hamilton, Toronto, Oshawa, London, Kitchener, Belleville, Brampton, St. Catherines, London, Parry Sound and North Bay.
Lighthouse gets emails and comments on the guest page from all over the world but it's particularly impressive to meet fans who've traveled long distances to see them. At the last few concerts the band met fans from Calgary, Montreal, and South Carolina and one couple drove all the way up to Parry Sound from Florida with their friend from Liverpool in tow!!
Now that's dedication.
Reaction to the band's performances can be summed up by this email received from Rob Ludlow.
The Belleville gig last night was awesome — consummate, immaculate performances by all and pure joy for the audience to experience. Skip, Paul, Ralph, Dan and the whole band are an inspiration, each artist so accomplished, experienced and masterful in what they bring. The catalogue and repertoire over 40+ years is just unbelievable and Lighthouse still stands among the best live bands anywhere, anytime. The big, lush, rich layered sound doesn't rely on sampling or autotune — just a lot of REALLY good musicians playing together in a wonderful respectful, collaborative and endlessly creative way, loving what they do and loving to share it with the appreciative audience. Thanks guys, for so many years of so much great music — and still bringin' it with love.

Youth who come to Serve! often face obstacles – personal, economic, and social – that have made it difficult to achieve success. The program at Serve! is designed to help them overcome these obstacles.

GILDA'S CLUB LAKESIDE PARTY JUNE 13/10
Lighthouse is really proud to be headlining this year's Gilda's Club Lakeside Party June 13. This amazing afternoon held at a private home on the lakefront of beautiful Shanty Bay near Barrie Ontario, is in support of Simcoe Muskoka's chapter of Gilda's Club, an organization that offers a multi-faceted program for people living with cancer. Each club includes everything from social activities to learning experiences. Family members or friends are invited to join in and experience the sense of community that is created behind the "red" door. Men, women and children and their families and friends can engage in a life-enriching, innovative program that fills an enormous void in the cancer care continuum. It is a place to find inspiration in a community atmosphere with others who are facing cancer, whether newly diagnosed, receiving treatment, post treatment or as a family member or close friend.

QUEEN ELIZABETH THEATRE FEB. 13/09
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our 40th Anniversary at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto on February 13. Every Lighthouse concert is fabulous and special in its own way but having family, friends, Lighthouse alumnae and fans all together in the same room made for an awesome experience. Here's a sampling of comments we'd like to share....If you were there and would like to add your comments please click here.
Without a doubt, the best concert I've seen in years. Anyone not there, missed the most entertaining evening in months. I saw Neil Young a few months ago and this concert was as good or maybe even better. Lighthouse is definitely one of the best bands in Canada. What an amazing group of talented musicians!! Favourite moment: Skip introducing the band and learning about each musician.
Lighthouse celebrated their 40th anniversary last night with several thousand of their loyal fans from the early 70's. Close your eyes and, except for the absence of lots of all kinds of smoke in the hall, everyone was transported back to the future. The band sounded amazing. They had great energy, fabulous musicianship and generally put on a high quality show.I had not really heard them live since the mid 70's when Bob McBride was the lead singer. I must say that their 'new' front man is as great as Bob but with a wonderful expansive vocal range. He has been with the band for over 17 years. For boomers, this was a quality event and confirmation that classic rock and rockers really are like fine wine. Even the few young people who came along with their boomer parents seemed to have a great time. The members of the band are exceptional players but the horn sectionis remarkable. I can't recall hearing such phenominal solos at any jazz or rock concert.
Favourite moment: One Fine Morning lit up the place!
They still have it !!! -
instrumentals were true to original brilliance and ,unlike so many other "older" groups, vocals were VERY strong /true to original. Solos by various members on all instruments were exceptional and allowed us to get a better understanding/appreciation of the many talents that contributed to the group's tremendous overall performance ."Guest" appearances from past members added to evening. Hearing so many old hits from the group reminded us why we loved them in first place - music with tremendous energy- great instrumentals combined with upbeat lyrics, and a punch from the brass section that groups without brass just cannot match. On reflection think group would have been a tremendous addition to Olympics entertainment lineup.
I was blown away.
What a band! The sound, the veniue and the band made for a memorable evening.
This is the best version of the group ever. Althought we miss Bob McBride and always will.
Dan Clancy stands in his own right. These guy clearly were having fun and isn't that's what matters. It was infectous.
Thanks Skip, Paul, Ralph, Russ Stuart and allFavourite moment: Meeting the band before and after . These guys made us feel fans are important, the new song 40 Years Every last solo

JAMIE PROKOP
It was a sad day when we learned that Skip's health was making it impossible for him to continue performing. His extraordinary technique and musicality were such a large part of the iconic Lighthouse sound we couldn't imagine replacing him. And the first gig without him would be on the Moody Blues Cruise, playing alongside such superstars as Roger Daltrey, Carl Palmer, The Strawbs and of course, The Moody Blues. However, Skip came up with a fabulous solution - his son Jamie!
If Jamie was at all intimidated by taking on such an enormous responsibility, he never showed it. After working together intensely for 3 months Jamie confidently slipped behind the drums for the first performance and the transition was seamless. The reception from the audience was electric and the buzz onboard the ship was that Lighthouse was killing it.
Despite his youth, Jamie brought years of experience with him. He super-charged the band with his vibrant energy incorporating solid technique with rock 'n' roll flair to create a style that's uniquely his own. He did his Dad proud!!
Jamie is still part of the Lighthouse family but has taken a back seat in the last few years to concentrate on other projects. We welcome Paul DeLong to sit atop the Lighthouse drum throne!
